Hi friend! Happy Thursday. I hope you have had a great week so far.
Today I am sharing this beautiful navy dress from Chicwish. I absolutely adore the feminine touches on this dress. I felt right at home when wearing this number in Downtown, Dallas. Downtown is my favorite part of Dallas. I love skyscrapers and tall buildings, give me a glass of champagne and put me on a rooftop and I am a happy girl. It is the little things in life, right? Whether you are making plans to visit Dallas or just want to change up routine in your hometown, see some of my favorite things to do in Downtown below.
Hang out at Klyde Warren Park
This is a given when coming to Dallas but I wanted to make sure I mentioned it. Klyde Warren is the perfect spot to get lunch on Saturday, enjoy a late afternoon snack at one of the many food truck offerings, or to simply throw down a blanket on the grass and hang out. My favorite thing to do at Klyde Warren is taking early morning yoga classes! Typically they are complimentary and are always taught by incredible yoga instructors around Dallas.
Have an Authentic Italian Meal
Porta Di Roma is one of the best meals I have had in Dallas! I have a personal rule about not eating at the same restaurant more than a handful of times, this one has been an exception however. If I am eating “bad” my two go-tos are carbs and cheese. Porta does not lack in either department! The majority of the staff members are from Italy (accents and all) so it feels like an escape from the normal Dallas eatery scene.
Grab a Drink at Reunion Tower
I have never eaten dinner at Five Sixty at Reunion Tower so I cannot speak to their food offerings, but like I said above, this girl is all about a good drink and a view! I love hopping up to Five Sixty after dinner on the weekends for a glass of rose or bubbles before heading home for the night.
Check Out the Mixologist at The Joule
Out of all of the hotels in Dallas, The Joule takes the cake for me. This place is as swanky as it gets. On the weekends The Joule has a mixologist man who wheels around a gorgeous rose gold bart car with liquors galore. He will ask you a few questions about yourself and then make you a drink based on what he thinks you will like. It is scary how accurate he is! I have two favorite drinks. The first one is a Chilton, which is basically an astronomical amount of lemon juice squeezed into a glass with club soda, salt and vodka. The drink originated in Lubbock, Texas and no place makes it better. If you get one and hate it, don’t knock it until you go to West Texas. My other favorite drink is Deep Eddy’s Ruby Red Grapefruit Vodka with club soda and lime. The first time the mixologist man made me a drink he basically created a combination of these drinks- and I never told him I liked either them! This guy really knows his stuff, and potentially how to read minds.
Shop Till You Drop at the Original Neiman Marcus
This one does not need much of an explanation. If you have a passion for fashion or beauty products you have more than likely stepped into a Neiman Marcus. The original Neiman Marcus is located in the heart of Downtown Dallas. My favorite part of this store is their beauty counter, all of the brand representatives are beyond well-educated in their profession. I have gone in multiple times asking them to help re-vamp my look in certain areas and within seconds they grab a product and work magic.
Order the Guacamole
I am a huge avocado + guacamole fan so when I say a restaurant has good guac, just trust me. Meso Maya is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Dallas to dig into chips and guac. Whenever I go to Meso I always request to sit outside. The restaurant has the most charming courtyard area with beautiful lights. The vibes will not disappoint! Neither will the margaritas.
Grab a Coffee and Walk Around the City
The best place to grab a cup of coffee in Downtown is at Weekend Coffee, located inside The Joule hotel. They have a drip iced coffee which is to die for, and will put some pep in your step faster than you can put a straw in the cup. Since you will already be in the heart of downtown, take a walk! Be sure to walk around The North side of The Joule, this is where the Dallas eye is.
I hope you have a blast on your next Downtown venture!
