Hi friend, happy Friday!
Today’s post is the second of a three-part travel series from a recent trip to Miami, Florida. The first part of my Miami travel series was all about what to do in the city. Now onto the good stuff… eats!
One of the things I liked about this city is all of the amazing food we ate (surprise, surprise). Keith and I had many different types of cuisine while we were here and they were all delicious. See our favorite restaurants we ate at below.
The Local House
Hands down one of the greatest brunches I have ever had. We sat outside and the atmosphere was perfect. Bonus, the fruit bowl comes with more than just melon!
The Market at Edition
Oh my pizzzzzza. I absolutely love pizza and a good salad, this place blew it out of the water. We got the arugula salad with apples and I have been trying to recreate it at home ever since. The glass of Champagne I had with dinner was equally as wonderful. The whole restaurant has accents of copper which made for a nice ambiance with the dim lighting.
Taquiza
If you have ever had good tacos before, they do not compare to Taquiza. This little taco stand is right across from The Hall, too convenient. The chips + guacamole here is out of this world. So is everything else.
Il Bolognese (On Ocean)
I absolutely loved this restaurant. When you are walking down Ocean Drive you walk through a million, or so it feels, restaurants. We were a few restaurants down the road when this one caught my eye. They serve everything in copper skillets which was the icing on the cake for me. I got the avocado toast which did not disappoint. Keith got a breakfast sandwich which was the perfect, morning-after-a-late-night, meal.
DIRT
All natural, healthy, everything. Smoothies, breakfast, juices, bowls, you name it. I also got avocado toast here. Are you sensing a trend?
Lario’s on The Beach
I am not an adventurous eater whatsoever. I like super healthy stuff, or plain and basic everything. Lario’s was our “adventurous” meal and I loved it! Keith and I had never had Cuban food before and we knew Miami was the place to try it. In all honesty, we stayed pretty basic in terms of menu choices but if I liked it then you will like it! We got 1 of each type of empanada, they were all super good. We also got Vaca Frita De Pollo which was the best shredded chicken I have ever had.
Il Gabbiano
Apologies for the blurry picture, I wanted to share our experience regardless of picture quality. This was our “date night” spot! Every time Keith and I go on a trip together he likes to take me on a “date” and pick out the restaurant and make it a total surprise. It is too sweet! Il Gabbiano was so good, he did a great job. We got to sit on the outside patio right by the water (one of my favorite things to do!) When you are seated your waiter immediately brings you appetizers on the house. We got cheese, bruschetta, crispy vegetables, all delicious. I stayed super basic when ordering, shocking based on the previous paragraph, I know. The spaghetti did not disappoint however! We ended our meal with complimentary limoncello shots, they really hook it up at this place.
If you go to Miami and go to any of these places I would love to hear about it! I hope you have an amazing weekend.
