Why September & October are the Best Months to Travel

Today I am headed out of town to go on a much needed (and I think well deserved) weekend vacation. Hence the inspiration behind this beach-y look. I am definitely not in the, first day of fall mood, just yet. I did not go anywhere tropical this summer and have been itching to get away!

September and October are the perfect time to travel because it is considered “shoulder season”. Shoulder season is a term used in the travel industry to describe the time between a peak season and the off season. So what does this mean for you? This means less people in the airport, hallelujah. Shorter security lines, cheaper flights, better hotel deals, and you have some wiggle room to bargain when booking excursions.

Imagine going to a “tourist destination” without all of the tourists. Shoulder season is just that. I always go to sites like Travelocity to find inspiration for new destinations. Now would be the perfect time to go to Miami! It is still warm there and you can get the hot temperatures without the usual price ticket.

The set I am wearing in this post is sold out but I came across this similar flowy set and I honestly love it even more! It is on sale too so no need to worry about buyer’s remorse.
