Wow y’all, as of today I have been blogging for an entire year! Nov. 30th of 2013 was my first blog post on C&C. So much has changed since then.
People often ask me what blogging is all about and I constantly get asked, “So you like model clothes, right?” Well, kind of, I guess… but it is truly so much more than that. Blogging has given me the ability to give you all insight into my biggest passion, which is fashion (as if you could not already tell). Growing up I was not into athletics, and the last thing I wanted to do was study. From since I can remember I loved clothes and I loved shopping. I remember the first time my mom took me into Limited Too, I went absolutely nuts. Suede, sparkly pants? Every color please and thank you. Back to my point… even more, I loved putting new and funky things together from new and old pieces in my closet. Something about getting dressed up has always fascinated me and I loved being the first girl at school to wear something other people would not dare to wear. Maybe that sounds horrible to say, but I loved it.
Blogging has impacted and changed my life completely over the last year. I will forever look at every opportunity as a possible Instagram picture (kidding, kind of). But really, blogging has opened up more doors for me than I could have ever imagined. I have had the opportunity to work with incredible companies such as rewardStyle, Kendra Scott, GiGi New York, Keds, Barrington, Conversation Pieces, Blush Boutique, Petal Child, Old Navy, and Stripe Clothing to name a few.
I have met so many inspiring and genuine people through blogging who continue to encourage me everyday.
One of the most important things that blogging has taught me is that while there are tons of people rooting for you and there are tons of people supporting you, there are two ton of people who are not. Y’all… people are mean. Breaking news right. With that said, I am not one of those people and I hope you are not either. Being nice is truly so much prettier than being mean. My point being, when you do something in life, do it for you. Do it because you love it, you want to breathe it, you want to be it, you want to completely immerse yourself in it. If people do not like what you do 1) they probably do not understand it 2) they probably do not know what they like to do. You know what the world would be if we all liked and did the same things? Booooooooooooooring.
To wrap it up, the last year has been; rewarding, challenging, educational, inspiring, fulfilling, memorable, eventful and as with anything, at times, stressful. Blogging has truly given me my “thing” and I could not be more thankful for that.
Thank you for following along for the last year and I hope you continue to for the years to come! I am blessed to have the best people following along with my blog and I could not do it without y’all. There are so many exciting things in store for Courtney & Confetti and I could not be more excited!!!
Xo, Courtney
