When it comes to fall, all you need is a few key pieces and you are set for the season! More the reason to love the cooler temperatures which will be blowing in before we know it. I am teaming up with Madewell to share the pieces I rely on most during the Fall.
A good pair of jeans is a fall must have. I love this pair of distressed denim from Madewell because they fit higher on your waist than the typical pair of jeans. I have a long torso so this is always a selling point for me.
Booties are one of the parts of fall I look forward to most. You can wear booties at the beginning of the season with a dress and into the cooler months with denim, leggings or tights. I always go for black when buying shoes because it is the easiest color to keep clean and goes with everything.
Next up, an oversized bag you can take everywhere. From now until March you will find me with a jacket or blanket scarf stuffed into my purse. I cannot stand being cold and when the weather gets colder, clearly I get colder too. This black oversized bag from Madewell allows me to go to and from with extra space for whatever life throws my way during the day. Typically that something is bottles of Kombucha from Whole Foods- no shame!
Light weight tops. Sweaters during the fall are a given but if you are the woman who likes to layer, light weight tops will be your new best friend. I used to rock the “frumpy” look pretty frequently. I finally figured out my problem was layering. I would get a thick sweater and try to throw a trench over it, not going to work. Learn from my lesson, less material is more when layering.
A go-to neutral lip color. I bet you are saying, “What?! Isn’t fall the time for reds and purple hues?!” Well true, it is, and I love fall for this reason. However, you have to have a good neutral to revert to for when cold fronts come in. The last thing you want is your red or plum lip gloss streaking through your hair. In case you were wondering, yes, this has happened to me before and red lip gloss is not easy to get out of blonde locks.
Now that we are chatting fall I am thinking about pumpkin flavored things I can make in the kitchen. If I whip up anything in the future I will be sure to share!
