I absolutely cannot stress how easy it is to make a floral arrangement! For years I spent too much money buying pre-made floral arrangements for my home. I went to a floral shop one day and saw how quickly they made an arrangement for me and I have never purchased one since.

Step 1

Buy flowers that look pretty together! I typically stick with neutral colors and they always go together. I get my flowers from Trader Joe’s, my favorite place and you cannot beat their prices!

Step 2

Find the vase you want to use (one you have at home, or one you purchased). Something I must stress- make sure the flowers are going to fit tightly together in your vase. If you buy a vase which is too big for the amount of florals you picked out, the arrangement will look sloppy.

Step 3

Unwrap your floral and stand them up next to your vase. Get the base of the flower petals almost touching the rim of the vase. Cut the extra stem off at the bottom with scissors.

Step 4

Lay all of your florals out on the counter, floor, wherever you are going to make your arrangement. Put each flower type into a pile.

Step 5

Distrbute evenly. You are going to eventually lay all of the flowers on top of one another, and even distribution ensures a beautiful bouquet. Count how many flowers you have of each kind, and distribute evenly. For example, I had 9 roses, 3 hydrangeas, and 2 pieces of greenery. This made my staking order go- 3 roses, 1 hydrangea, 1 piece of greenery, 3 roses, 2 hydrangeas (this was obviously not an even distribution, it is fine to do this), 1 piece of greenery, and lastly 3 roses.

Step 6

Bunch all of your flowers together (squeeze the stems) and put them into your vase. It should be a tight fit. If the flowers fit together loosely it is one of two things, you may need to cut your stems down more, or you need a smaller vase.

Step 7

Fill your vase with cold water and then add ice cubes. Ever wonder why floral arrangements are in a refrigerator at the grocery store? This keeps the flowers fresh longer. Add ice cubes and your florals will thank you! This will leave condensation around the vase. Of course this only occurs until after the ice cubes have melted.

Be sure to give your florals some tender love and care as well. Keep them out of the heat, this make sthe petals welt much more quickly. Also, if your florals are in your bathroom, take them out while you shower. The steam makes the petals welt as well.
