My boyfriend, Keith, and I went to South Beach over an extended weekend recently and a had an absolute blast. There is truly something for everyone in South Beach. You can find a lot things to do outside of South Beach/Miami as well. See some of my favorite things we did below!
Lay in a cabana on South Beach
This is a given. The water is a beautiful light blue color and the sand is almost white. South Beach is one of the prettiest beaches I have seen! We walked up and down the beach and looked at all of the lifeguard towers, they each have different themes and designs.
Drink from a coconut
I am absolutely obsessed with coconut. It was our first day on the beach and I heard some guy walking around asking people if they wanted a coconut to drink out of. I was almost asleep on my chair and shot up! I wish I could explain my excitement during this moment. Keith and I are still laughing about how excited I was.
Try a different type of cuisine!
If I can do this one, you can do this one. I am the most non-adventurous person when it comes to food. I used to try stuff all the time and almost never liked it. What can I say, I have a boring palette. I was determined to try Cuban food in Miami though because it seemed like the thing to do. One day for lunch we walked to Lario’s on the beach and it was sooo good! Highly recommend.
Ride to the very end of the bike path
The picture above was shot at the very end south end of the South Beach bike path. It was absolutely stunning! As you can see the water is super blue and you can see out for miles and miles. The weather was gorgeous this day. We ended up continuing our bike tour through the rest of the harbor for about an hour.
I love going out and dancing so we had to make our way to the hot spots in town. My absolute favorite was Liv at the Fontainebleau. We got to the Fontainebleau hotel before Liv opened so we hung out and had a drink at the hotel bar. I also loved The Basement at the Edition.
Walk around Lincoln Road
This is where all the shopping is! Any retail store you are wanting to find, is here. If you are staying on South Beach I would recommend walking. You pass cool hotels and resturants on the way. Be sure to check out the H&M! It was one of my favorite stores.
